£110 pp, all materials included

Suitable for day 1 beginners + those who are self taught at home, struggling to piece together the dots and want some guidance.

Come spend a creative day learning the beautiful art of stained glass in a relaxed and friendly setting.

In this hands on class, you will create a finished hanging suncatcher using the copper foil method.

You will be able to choose from a variety of fun and beginner friendly suncatcher designs, so you can pick a style that fits your taste while still learning all the core techniques.

What we are making:

A 15-20cm stained glass Suncatcher ornament, hanging options include ribbon, cord or chain

All materials are supplied, no need to buy any to attend.

What we will cover in class:

An overview of stained glass tools, materials and steps

Selecting your pattern and glass options

Practicing cutting glass skills on clear glass

Cutting and breaking glass for your chosen design

Glass grinding

Applying copper foil + burnishing

Soldering your project together

Cleaning, finishing, and polishing your piece

Adding hanging hardware to display your work

Bubble wrapping to bring it home safely

With only six students, there is plenty of time for individual help, questions and encouragement.

This class is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a relaxed, creative day and a beautiful handmade piece to take home.

End up being super speedy and don't want to go home just yet? You are welcome to stay for the entire class duration and make an additional simple stained glass plant stake. Plant stakes will be mounted on plant safe brass rods.

In the future I'll be hosting specific creation classes such as 3D plants, tealight holders and trinket boxes!

Additional notes:

Please wear clothes you are comfortable crafting in and potentially getting dirty. Alongside closed toe shoes.

Please bring a hair bobble if it's long.

Gloves + safety glasses will be provided, if you already wear glasses it's not required to use them.

Disposable gloves will be powder and latex free.

Please bring a small pack lunch for a short mid way lunch break. But please do not bring snacks as you'll be unable to eat them whilst we work due to the materials in use.

Please bring a flip up water bottle/drink rather than a screw top lid.

It is not recommended to attend this class whilst pregnant or breastfeeding due to materials used.

No under 18s.

Which is a 2 minute walk from the venue and isn't restricted if you're not in any of the marked white box zones.

If no luck there, most of the ends of the roads have non-residential parking.

Bus:

The number 9 bus from Cardiff city centre stops two shops down.
